LEXTON® is a non-porous stain-resistant solid surface and is ideal for kitchen tops, vanity tops and other surfaces subject to moisture. Periodic maintenance of your LEXTON® surface will ensure optimum beauty and longevity. While LEXTON® is durable, like any other fine material it can be damaged if abused or mistreated. With a little knowledge, you can enjoy the elegance and beauty of LEXTON® for years to come.
Regular washing will help maintain the look and finish of your LEXTON® countertop. Wash your countertop with a mild detergent and water to remove mealtime soil and grime. Mild abrasives such as Soft Scrub® are ideal for maintaining the sheen and removal of fine scratches. For tough or stubborn situations, follow our chart of recommended cleaning procedures. For sanitation, we recommend the use of antibacterial cleaners or wipes. Routine cleaning may raise the gloss level of the countertop over time.
With over 40 colors and varying hues, some colors may appear to require more frequent cleaning to maintain their beauty. Darker colors tend to show fine scratches more easily and will require more attention than lighter colors. Over time through care and use your countertop will acquire a patina, changing the appearance of the finish. You may restore the look of the original finish by following the “Periodic Maintenance” found on www.LextonAmerica.com.
Even though LEXTON® has an excellent heat resistant property compared with other ordinary countertops, placing hot pans as well as some heat-generating appliances such as electric fry pans or crock pots can damage a LEXTON® surface. Do not place hot pans directly from the burner or oven on the LEXTON® surface. Always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet to protect LEXTON®. Allow cookware to cool before placing them into a Lexton® sink. Hot water alone will not damage your Lexton sink, however it’s a good practice to run your faucet while pouring boiling water into your sink.
Strong chemicals such as those found in drain cleaners, toilet bowl cleansers, and floor and finish strippers should be kept away from contact with your LEXTON® surface and sinks. These items, when left on the surface, may cause color or surface damage which can be difficult to repair. Surfaces exposed to these chemicals should be promptly flushed with water. Do not cut directly on Lexton® countertops.
